Fellows Program Highlight: Meet Haley!

Hi, my name is Haley Broder and I am one of this year’s Coro Fellows! After graduating from the University of California, Berkeley last May, I entered the Coro program excited to expand my understanding of how to get things done in public affairs. While placed with the United Food & Commercial Workers (UFCW) Local 770, I toured meat packing plants, summarized arbitration decisions, interviewed cannabis workers, and observed strategic planning processes. I also shadowed Union Representatives and Shop Stewards as they signed up new members and handled grievances in grocery stores and packing plants. Learning from UFCW Local 770 Treasurer-Secretary, John Grant, has given me greater insight into decision-making methodology and has demonstrated effective leadership, which I am excited to apply to my post-Coro life in just a few short months.
