Ian Campbell founded The Abernathy MacGregor Group’s offices in the West and now serves as Vice Chairman. He provides counsel to clients in the areas of investor relations, crisis communications, financial public relations, mergers and acquisitions, and issues management situations.
He advises clients in a wide range of crisis situations, including: explosions and other facility issues; management transitions; liquidity and financial solvency issues; state and federal regulatory investigations, such as FCPA violations and investigations by FERC, the SEC, the DOJ and the NTSB; antitrust issues; proxy contests; business-to business litigation; consumer and securities class action litigation; and change of control contests.
Prior to joining Abernathy MacGregor in 1997, Mr. Campbell spent twelve years as a senior vice president of Great Western Financial Corporation, a super regional banking company, where his responsibilities included investor relations, public relations, government affairs, community relations, and employee communications.
Mr. Campbell has served two California Governors and is a trustee of numerous civic organizations, including the California Historical Society. He has served as Chairman of the California Parks and Recreation Commission, Director of the California Taxpayers Association and National Chair of Coro. He received a B.A. in government from Pomona College, Magna Cum Laude, and an M.A.U.S from Occidental College.
