As Coro Southern California’s Senior Director of Training & Programs, Abril leads the Fellows Program in Public Affairs as well as the Youth Fellows Program. Prior to Coro, Abril served as Associate Director of Programs & Evaluation at Arts for LA, where she helped oversee ACTIVATE, Arts for LA’s signature arts advocacy leadership program, managed key civic engagement events and advocacy campaigns, and drove the organization’s evaluation practices. Abril holds a B.A. in Biology from Pomona College and studied marine biodiversity and evolutionary genetics as a doctoral student in the Department of Ecology & Evolutionary Biology at UCLA and at the Indonesian Biodiversity Research Center (now Bionesia) in Denpasar, Bali.
