Carson Bruno is Senior Director of Training and Programs of Coro Southern California, overseeing the the Lead LA and CoroX programs. Carson comes to Coro with an extensive background spanning the private sector, public policy analysis, and higher education administration.
He is the former Assistant Dean for Program Relations, Admissions, and Program Services of the Pepperdine School of Public Policy, also serving as Adjunct Faculty specializing in California policy solutions. As Assistant Dean, Carson provided the strategic oversight for the Office of Program Services and Admissions, which is responsible for the school’s recruitment, admissions, enrollment, student services, professional development, and alumni affairs functions. Prior to Pepperdine, Carson held a Research Fellow appointment at Stanford University’s Hoover Institution, where he wrote and spoke extensively on California public policy, electoral politics, and public opinion, focusing on California’s economic and political position and challenges and solutions related to housing, transportation, and climate change policy. Previously, Carson structured tax-exempt and taxable municipal bond issuances as a public finance investment banker at J.P. Morgan Securities, Inc in New York City.
Carson holds a Master of Public Policy with Honors in Applied Economic Policy and American Politics and Policy from the Pepperdine School of Public Policy and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Business Management with Special Attainments in Commerce from Washington and Lee University’s Williams School of Commerce, Economics, and Politics. He is also an alumnus of the Coro Southern California Lead LA Fellowship Program. Carson and his partner reside in West Hollywood with their foxhound-beagle mix, Quinn.
