Olivia Ray

Director, Development & Communications

Olivia Ray is the Director of Development and Communications at Coro Southern California. She designs, implements, and maintains the organization’s development and communication strategies, ensuring Coro’s mission and brand are effectively communicated across various platforms, and ensuring organizational sustainability through her work in grant management, fundraising, and event planning.

With a robust background in the education sector, Olivia has managed strategy, governance, compliance, and development for charter schools serving low-income communities and historically underserved students. Her dedication to education is rooted in her early career as an elementary school teacher, where she spent four years inspiring and educating young learners.

Olivia is also deeply committed to community service and advocacy. Her first board service was in eighth grade, when she joined the Mid-Peninsula ACLU Board, where she supported initiatives aimed at protecting civil liberties and promoting social justice. During her undergraduate studies, Olivia championed efforts to support sexual violence survivors by interning with Students Promoting Empowerment and Consent (SPEAC) and publishing her honors thesis Sexual Violence in Popular Rap Music and Other Media. She currently serves on the board of Envisioneers Inc., a non-profit focused on extended learning for middle school studies. 

Olivia graduated with honors from the University of Arizona, earning a B.A. in Political Science with a minor in Business Administration. She went on to earn a M.A. in Elementary Education from Stanford University, developing her expertise in, and commitment to, impactful education.

After living in the San Fernando Valley and Downtown Los Angeles for four years, Olivia returned to the Bay Area, where she was born and raised. Her diverse experiences and unwavering dedication to education, community service, and advocacy make her a vital asset to Coro and the broader community.
